Newick Park Hotel, East Sussex

We’re lucky enough to be recommended photographers at Newick Park Country House Hotel and we’ve shot many a wedding there. The staff are lovely and every wedding we have attended has run like clockwork.

One of the finest traditions to be found in England is that of the country house. Representing a wonderful escape from the bustle of daily life, they have always been places for the lucky few to relax, unwind and catch up with friends. The country house hotel is the modern day interpretation and Newick Park in East Sussex is one of the best. It is one of the few to be privately owned and run so it still feels exactly like a family home; it is elegant and friendly, with huge log fires, fabulous antiques and wonderful staff.

The lovely Georgian house is Grade II* listed and is surrounded by its own private park of 255 acres, which means it enjoys complete peace and privacy, together with the most fabulous views over the lake and nearby South Downs. Each of the sixteen bedrooms is individually designed, some with four poster beds, others with some of the widest beds you will ever sleep in. It is thirty minutes from Gatwick Airport and from the historic city of Brighton. The internationally renowned Glyndebourne Opera House is only fifteen minutes away and there are many historic houses, gardens and castles within easy reach. Wi-fi broadband internet access is provided free of charge and there are two beautiful light and airy function rooms ideal for meetings or small conferences. Guests can have fun on the quad bikes or the ‘in-house’ tank, and clay pigeon shooting is available with full instruction. Newick Park also organises team-building or family based activities such as treasure hunts, which are great fun. Private parties, weddings and other special occasions are often celebrated here, with most being held as exclusive use events.

“Shortly after opening in 1996 Newick Park earned, and have retained, the AA’s supreme accolade of ‘Top 200 Hotels’, now known as the ‘Inspector’s Choice’. Our food is also excellent – a fact that has again been acknowledged by the AA who have just awarded us our third AA Rosette, putting us in the top 10% of the country, and making us the only restaurant in East Sussex with this accolade. The restaurant is led by Head Chef Chris Moore who searches out only the best local food including many ingredients sourced directly from the estate and organically run kitchen garden. Other recent awards include the prestigious Conde Nast Johansens’s Readers Award for 2008 awarded to the hotel which has had the most positive feedback from Johansen’s readers.”

Whatever the reason for your visit, whether it is for a meeting, wedding or short break, once you have experienced the unique atmosphere of Newick Park you may find it hard not to return. Visit east Sussex photographer website

Penshurst Place, East Sussex

East Sussex wedding photographers KDH Photo have been recommended suppliers for wedding photography at Penshurst Place in Kent for many years and have always enjoyed the fantastic photo opportunities it has to offer.Set in an area of unspoilt natural beauty, Penshurst Place, although medieval in origin, retains the warmth and character of a much-loved family home. It has been the abode of kings and noblemen throughout history and the ancestral seat of the Sidney family since 1552. Philip Sidney, Viscount De L’Isle and his family, invite you to share the magnificent surroundings of their home on your wedding day. Since Penshurst Place was first given approval as premises for civil weddings in 1995, hundreds of weddings have taken place within the walls of the original 14th century defended manor house. You may be assured of a most exclusive and memorable setting in either The Baron’s Hall or The Sunderland Room to capture that special moment of one of the most important days of your life. There are three banqueting rooms of varying capacities, each with its own history and charm. The unrivalled Baron’s Hall and the elegant Sunderland Room are idyllic venues for wedding receptions. The smaller, intimate Buttery, once the bottle storeroom of the medieval household, may be used in conjunction with the banqueting rooms, or as a venue for an informal reception of up to 30 guests.

The picturesque formal gardens, almost as old as the house, offer stunning photo opportunities for the bride and groom to capture the romance of the day.

Buxted Park Wedding Fair, East Sussex

Wedding Newick Park

Don’t be allamared, they’re quite tame. We’ve got everything here in The Beverley Hills of The South, including a Llama Park just up the road. If Llamas happen to be your bag, why not pop in and have a chat to a couple when you’re next down. Bung them a few quid or a bag of hay and they’ll even stand in as a couple of bridesmaids at your wedding. And they probably won’t drink as much. This wedding photograph was taken in the grounds of Newick Park Hotel, East Sussex.

Wedding stationery / decor

We’ve done a few weddings recently where the stationery has been supplied by Elegant Stationery. They really are a superb company and we particulary like the Order of Service cards using the Swarovski crystals. Very nice indeed, well worth checking out their wide range of designs on their website. These shots were taken at the Alexander House Hotel in East Sussex. There are a lot of clever people about in the wedding industry. And none more so than Amaryllis who could no doubt turn the insides of a garden shed into The Sistine Chapel.

The Pollen bunch

We’ve not seen so much as a duff petal in many years of shooting weddings and never heard a bad thing said about Brighton-based florists, Pollen.Anne-Marie loves photographing the wedding detail shots and there’s nothing she likes more than a nice bunch of flowers. Especially if it’s been put together by Donal and Dex. Book early, They get extremely busy. This shot taken in the grounds of Buxted Park Hotel

Perfect Day Studios Videography

Leo Feranc from Perfect Day Studios, a videographer who we highly recommend, even though he has more hair than me.Seen here in Chanel No5, Armani suit and Prada boxers. David Beckham eat your heart out.As well as a gorgeous new wife, and a cheeky  little sports car, he also has a dog called Jasmine Supermodel who’s a mate of our dog, Daisy.

So if that’s not a good enough reason to hire him, we don’t know what is.
